Stopp ryktene!

 
Det nærmer seg skolestart, og mange forventningsfulle barn går en spennende tid i møte. Dessverre vet vi at noen av disse barna kommer til å bli plaget av sine medelever. Dette korte innlegget er en liten påminnelse om en enkel sak som du som forelder kan gjøre for å stoppe ditt barn fra å spre rykter om andre.
 
Først en liten presisering. Mobbing defineres som gjentatt plaging over tid. Dette tas alvorlig på skolene, og det kjøres stadig kampanjer for å få fokus på problemet. Våre lærere gjør en fantastisk jobb for å skape et godt læringsmiljø, og det omfatter selvfølgelig trygge omgivelser hvor elevene føler seg sett, hørt og verdsatt.
 
Dog ligger hovedansvaret for barnas oppførsel på foreldrene, altså på deg og alle andre foresatte der ute.
 
Som forelder er du en rollemodell som barna ser opp til. Det du gjør, gjør barna. Den lille historien du nå skal få høre, kan det godt være du har hørt flere ganger tidligere, men det gjør ingen ting.
 
Et godt valg i hverdagen er å lære seg historien, leve etter den selv og ikke minst, fortell den til dine barn.
 

    Det kom en mann til Sokrates og sa:
    «Jeg må fortelle deg noe om en av dine venner.»
    Sokrates svarte:
    «Jeg antar at du først har latt det gå gjennom de tre sikter.»
    Mannen kjente ikke til de tre sikter, så Sokrates sa: «Det første er sannhetens sikt.
    Er du sikker på at det du vil fortelle meg er sant?»
    «Nei, sikker er jeg ikke», sa mannen, «For jeg har hørt det av andre».
    «Ja, men så har du vel siktet gjennom godhetens sikt?», spurte Sokrates.
    Mannen ristet på hodet.
    «Nå, men det tredje siktet da! Har du spurt deg selv om det du vil fortelle meg er til noe nytte?»
    Da mannen skamfull bøyde hodet, sluttet Sokrates:
    «Ja, men når det du vil fortelle om min venn verken er sant, godt eller nyttig, så behold det for deg selv.»
